About me

Hi, I’m Ashlee

I’ve specialized in grief counseling and therapy for just over a decade through my previous career as a hospice grief counselor and program coordinator. This experience has given me the opportunity to support people through difficult times of transition and loss as well as navigate challenging personal relationships, anxiety and other stressors. Through this experience I have learned that loss of any kind can shake our foundation and leave us feeling lost and confused. Yet, we each carry our own deep wisdom and strength and may need support to find our way again.

In addition to supporting individuals, I have a great passion for providing education and information about grief. My own early experiences of sudden and traumatic loss have driven me to expand access to information about grief for individuals, friends, family, mental health professionals, and larger communities. Offering trainings to the community, mentoring and supervising new clinicians and offering concrete resources to people in the acute and crisis stages of grief is what fills me with life and warms my heart. In 2023 I was grateful for the opportunity to begin as an instructor with the Sonoma State University Graduate Counseling Program.

In my free time I enjoy being at the beach or hiking with my dog Lacey or at home curled up with my cat Cricket. My pets are my constant companion working virtually. I enjoy bringing humor to my work and truly believe that laughter and tears are the key to healing. Working with kids and teens has helped me expand my creative and silly passions as well, including digital art, painting, collage, photography, board games and tabletop role playing games. I love getting the opportunity to combine my passions with my sessions.
