FEES

$160 per 50 minute session. I offer a limited number of sliding scale fee options. Please inquire if needed.

Phone Consult

I offer a 15-20 minute phone consultation at no cost to you. We can explore what you are looking for in therapy, I will discuss my background and approach, and we'll decide if it feels good to move forward together. This is a good time to ask any questions, discuss therapy goals, and get a general feeling for how we work together.

Insurance

I am contracted with Lyra, an Employee Assistance Program. Check here to see if your company sponsors this benefit.

I am considered an out-of-network provider with most insurance companies. Some insurance plans provide a reimbursement for out-of-network providers, in which I can provide a monthly statement/receipt (called “superbill”) for you to submit to your insurance. You will still need to pay for sessions out-of-pocket and I cannot guarantee that you will be reimbursed by your insurance company. However, I strongly suggest that you contact your insurance provider to clarify the extent of benefits provided by your insurance company.

Steps to Find Out if Your Insurance Provider Will Reimburse You

Call the number on the back of your insurance card (or on their website) and check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:

  1. Do I have mental health benefits through my insurance provider?

  2. If yes, are out-of-network benefits included?

  3. What is my deductible and has it been met?

  4. If out-of-network benefits are covered, is there a portion that is covered or is it fully covered?

  5. Do I need pre-approval prior to obtaining out-of-network services?

  6. How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

  7. How much will be reimbursed for these codes: 90791, 90837?

  8. Where do I submit the superbill for reimbursement?

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask me for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, either verbally or in writing. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
